Barrowford Celtic Players make England Appearances

Barrowford Celtic would like to offer its massive congratulations and support to two young men who have been with the club from academy to completing their under 18’s season this year. They have gone on to represent their country this year in the home nations learning difficulties squad and will hopefully be successful later this year in a further tournament. Congratulations lads well deserved for all your hard work and effort, representing your country is the biggest achievement for any sportsman and everyone at the club is proud of both of you.

The two players involved are Simon Reed and Josh Walne, both played for Barrowford Celtic under 18's last season and attended Myerscough College, both were put forward by the coach Mario Michaels, initially attended regionl trials at Liverpool FA, Both were successful and went for the national trials held at Lilleshall over a weekend in November, again both were  successful  andselected for the 20 man squad  to take part in the Home Nations Tournament at Easter.
 
This was held at Loughborough University both Simon and Josh played in all three games Simon as Cenre Half, Josh as Right Back with the following results;
 
 England beat Rep of Ireland 4 - 0
England  beat Northern Ireland 7 - 0
England beat Scotland 5 - 3 with Simon getting his first goal.
 
This resulted in England retaining the cup.
Both Simon and Josh are to attend two training camps in July and August prior to attending a tournament in Sweden  against Sweden,Holland and Germany.
